October 15 Cost of RE 10 times cheaper than a fossil-fuelled future
Cost of renewable energy 10 times cheaper than "business as usual" fossil-fuelled future (7 July 2007) Amsterdam/Brussels, 6th July 2007: Investing in a renewable electricity future will save 10 times the fuel costs of a ‘business as usual’ fossil-fuelled scenario, saving $180 billion USD annually and cut CO2 emissions in half by 2030, according to a joint report by Greenpeace and the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) released today. In the first global analysis of its kind, “Future Investment - A sustainable Investment Plan for the power sector to save the Climate’, demonstrates a powerful economic argument for a shift in global investments towards renewable energy (including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and bio energy), within the next 23 years, and away from dangerous coal and nuclear power. The report gives the financial rationale for Greenpeace’s "Energy [R]evolution," a blueprint for how to cut global CO2 emissions by 50% by 2050, while maintaining global economic growth (2). "As Live Earth mobilises billions of people to take urgent action against the climate threat, our report shows not only that the world’s electricity needs can be met by renewable energy, but that by doing so, we will literally save trillions of dollars; a massive US $180 billion a year, forever” said Sven Teske, Greenpeace International, Energy Expert . “In sharp contrast, a ‘business as usual’ approach casts a dark cloud over our future. Its 10,000 new fossil fuel power plants, would increase global CO2 emissions by over 50%, and more than double fuel costs; there is no way of putting a price on the disastrous results The Energy [R]evolution needs an extra global annual inventment of $22 billion in clean and renewable power plants on top of current expenditure. The fuel cost savings in the scenario, of up to $202 billion per year, means this will pay for itself ten times over. Meanwhile, converting the massive subsidies of $250 billion a year that coal and gas receive to clean, safe renewable energy will cover the costs of the energy [r]evolution and much more. According to EREC the global market for wind turbines was worth some €18 billion in 2006, and the total renewable industry $50 billion. Under an energy [r]evolution scenario, the renewable energy would be worth a massive $ 288 billion by 2030. “The renewable industry is willing and able to deliver the power plants the world needs, we simply need the right climate and energy policy. Decisions made in the next few years, will continue to have an impact in 2050. Only if a renewable energy path is taken, can we avoid the worst excesses of climate change!” said Oliver Schäfer, EREC policy director. The report stresses the urgent need for decisive action now. In the next decade, many existing power plants will need replacing, and emerging economies such as China, India and Brazil are rapidly building new energy infrastructure. July 10 Camping Facilities:
What's a campground or
RV park without Internet access these days? People say they want to get away
from it all, but that doesn't necessarily mean they want to live without
e-mail.
If you happen to drive past campgrounds or RV parks this summer, chances are you'll see the signs that advertise "Wi-Fi" access right up there with showers and propane. You can also find Wi-Fi campgrounds and RV parks on the Internet. Web sites listing Wi-Fi facilities include http://www.wififreespot.com/rv.html. For listings for Kampgrounds of America sites only, go to http://www.koa.com/wireless/. Wi-Fi means that the location provides wireless Internet access. Often campers can log on to the Internet right from their camp site without going to any special area of the park. Jef Sutherland, vice president of information services for Kampgrounds of America, said that campers not only want to stay in touch with family and friends, but they also want to manage online banking transactions and check in with the office. "We've become a society where e-mail is as important as our phone for business and personal communications," he said. "Our guests just expect Wi-Fi at KOAs." The service is also increasingly provided for free. In the 2007 KOA Directory, 324 of the 379 KOAs offering Wi-Fi list it as free. In 2006, only 281 KOAs offered Wi-Fi, and only 167 of those were free. July 03 Latest Israel-friendly sites listed at Highways to Jlm

September 15 Preparing for the future in IsraelHoly Land CampingQuoted from a presentation by Holy
Land Inc. Founder, Philip Blom to Christian investors: I do think we
should start paying much more attention to preparing for the future while still,
of course, keeping up being spiritual "watchmen" for
Israel.
During the transition towards
multi-ethnic democracy in South Africa under the banner, "One Man One Vote," a
prominent industrialist cautioned that the future would be better served by a
slogan, "One Man One JOB." In Israel the Arabs' leadership concentrate all their
energy on militant incitement and blaming Israel for their stagnation and I've
often asked Arabs, Bedouins and the anti-Israel activists: "what if you manage
to drive the Jews in the sea, where will the Arabs find jobs?; how can they have
a state without an economy?; etc.?"
Israel still needs to absorb
about 6 million Jews from the nations that we know of and millions more who
don't even realize they are Jewish, plus, as the Lord God of Israel puts it,
"OTHERS," who are also his people (grafted-in gentiles)...
... Apart from attending to
water needs in Israel, like desalination that is already done at 27 plants of
different sizes, the development and adoption of renewable energy should be an
absolute priority - not just to save the world from the pollution caused by
fossil fuel, but also the terrorism that is funded by oil money. Renewable
energy will in any case be the hottest sector in world industry for years to
come, offering enormous returns on investment. Please visit the Holy Land Inc. Associates Page to

No nation has been more profoundly influenced by the “Old Testament” than America. Many of America’s early statesmen and educators were schooled in Hebraic civilization. The second president of the United States, John Adams, a Harvard graduate, had this to say of the Jewish people:
2. The curriculum at Harvard, like those of other early American colleges and universities, was designed by learned men of “Old Testament” persuasion. Harvard president Mather (1685-1701) was an ardent Hebraist (as were his predecessors). His writings contain numerous quotations from the Talmud as well as from the works of Saadia Gaon, Rashi, Maimonides and other classic Jewish commentators. 3. Yale University president Ezra Stiles discoursed with visiting rabbis on the Mishna and Talmud. At his first public commencement at Yale (1781), Stiles delivered an oration on Hebrew literature written in Hebrew. Hebrew and the study of Hebraic laws and institutions were an integral part of Yale’s as well as of Harvard’s curriculum. 4. Much the same may be said of King’s College (later Columbia University), William and Mary, Rutgers, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Brown University. Hebrew learning was then deemed a basic element of liberal education. Samuel Johnson, first president of King’s College (1754-1763), expressed the intellectual attitude of his age when he referred to Hebrew as “essential to a gentleman’s education.” 5. This attitude was not merely academic. A year before the American Revolution, Harvard president Samuel Langdon, declared: “The civil policy of Israel is doubtless an excellent general model[of government].” 6. The Higher Law doctrine of the Declaration of Independence is rooted in the Torah, which proclaims “The Laws of Nature and Nature’s God,” and appeals to the “Supreme Judge” and “Providence”—terms lacking in Israel’s Declaration of Independence. 7. During the colonial and constitution-making period, the Americans, especially the Puritans, adopted and adapted various Hebraic laws for their own governance. The legislation of New Haven, for example, was based on the premise that “the judicial laws of God, as they were delivered by Moses, and as they are not ceremonial, shall generally bind all offenders …” Thirty-eight of the seventy-nine statutes in the New Haven Code of 1665 derived their authority from the Hebrew Bible. The laws of Massachusetts were based on the same foundation. 8. The fifteen Capital Laws of New England included the “Seven Noahide Laws” of the Torah, or what may be termed the seven universal laws of morality. 9. Now, without minimizing the influence of such philosophers as Locke and Montesquieu on the framers of the American Constitution, America may rightly be deemed the first and only nation that was explicitly founded on the Seven Noahide Laws of the Torah. It should also be noted that the constitutions of eleven of the original thirteen states made provision for religious education. Some even had religious qualifications for office. B. The Institutions Prescribed by the American Constitution 1. The House of Representatives represents 435 districts of the United States, where the people of each district elect one person to represent their views and interests. The idea of district elections is implicit in the Torah. We read in Deut. 1:13: “Select for yourselves men who are wise, understanding, and known to your tribes and I will appoint them as your leaders.” a. Exodus 18:19 states: “seek out from among all the people men with leadership ability, God-fearing men–men of truth who hate injustice.” Similar qualifications are prescribed in the original constitutions Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. b. Each tribe was to select the best men to be their representatives. Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch comments that “each tribe (shevet) is to choose out of its own midst men whose character can only be known by their lives [hence whose character] is known only to those who have associated with them.” This is the biblical source of residential requirements for Representatives and Senators in the United States. Also, what is here called a tribe was called a district (pelech) after the Second Temple. c. Finally, it is a principle of Jewish law that “No legislation should be imposed on the public unless the majority can conform to it” (Avoda Zara 36a). This requires legislators to consider or consult the opinions of their constituents. Hence representative democracy can be assimilated to Judaism by adding that representatives must be “men who are wise and haters of bribes.” This would make for an aristocratic democracy, or a universal aristocracy—a kingdom of priests, of noblemen. 2. The Senate. The Senate represents the 50 states of the Federal Union; it therefore represents the Federal principle. But the idea of federalism goes back to the Torah and the twelve tribes. Each tribe had its own distinct identity, its own governor and its own judicial system. 3. The Presidency. Unlike Israel, which has a Plural Executive or Cabinet consisting of a prime minister and other ministers representing different political parties in the Knesset, the United States has a Unitary Executive, namely, the President. Of course the President has a Cabinet, but its members cannot hold any other office and they are wholly responsible to the President, not to any political party. a. Now it so happens that a Unitary Executive is a Torah principle! Thus, when Moses told Joshua to consult the elders when he was about to lead the Jews across the Jordan, God countermanded Moses: there can only be one leader in a generation. And if you look at tractate Sanhedrin 8a, you will see that Jewish law opposes collective leadership. Nor is this all. b. Just as a President of the United States must be a native-born American and not a naturalized citizen, so a king of Israel must be born of a Jewish mother and not a ger or convert.. 4. The Supreme Court. Just as the American Supreme Court is the final interpreter of the American Constitution, so the Great Sanhedrin is the final interpreter of the Jewish Constitution, the Torah. So we see that the original American Constitution was very much rooted in Torah Judaism. C. Brief Comparison with Israel’s political and judicial institutions 1. The Knesset: MKs are not individually elected by the voters in constituency elections—hence there is no accountability. In fact, MKs can ignore public opinion with impunity, as 23 Likud MKs did when they voted for Disengagement, contrary to their pledge to the nation in the January 2003 election. 2. The Government: The cabinet is collection of rival party leaders competing for a larger slice of the national budget. This undermines national unity and national purpose. The average government last less than two years, which makes it impossible to pursue a consistent and long-range national strategy. 3. The Supreme Court: The Court is a self-appointed oligarchy. It refuses to enforce the Foundations of Law Act 1980 which would make Jewish law first among equals. Chief Justice Aaron Barak writes: “It should never be said that a particlar legal system has the primary claim to interpretive inspiration.” Imagine a US Supreme Court justice teaching Americans: “It should never be said that the American legal system has the primary claim to interpertive inspiration.” Israel’s Supreme Court is the only court in the world that scorns the legal heritage of its own people. It has repeatedly handed down decisions that violate the basic beliefs and values of the Jewish people. D. Conclusion: The political and judicial institutions of the so-called Jewish State are less Jewish than the political and judicial institutions now operating in the non-Jewish democratic world! * * * My Comments As against the USA, the reigning powers and systems of government in Israel are those of Babylon (globalism and "mystery religions") from which Abra(ha)m was called to form a new nation under our God of Israel in Canaan. It gave rise to an ongoing battle in present day Israel that the Bible typifies as a war between the sons of Greece and the sons of Zion. Ironically, Christians who stand on the Bible when it comes to Israel and Jewish rights, are very much part of the sons of Zion whether they realize it or not, and will eventually be persecuted for it. In fact, in general the sons of Zion include those with a Biblical stand on other issues as well, like abortion, gay issues, etc., that would also make them a target for liberals' wrath. Take courage though, the sons of Zion will finally be victorious. But we still have quite a way to go, since Christians are not that much under pressure yet in the West. For the few of us (Christian sons of Zion) who have been called from the nations to serve in Israel, the going is tough, though, due to the fact that Biblical rules concerning foreigners in the land are not in force. We constantly need to deal with visa problems and find ways to survive because we are not entitled to work. We therefore really need help to be able to stand with the persecuted sector of the Israeli population (about 50%) and to prepare a refuge for Jewish and Christian refugees from the nations. Please see my "Appeal" on my Holy Land Inc. Associates Page and my "Founder's Report" and please, seriously consider my plea for help. Please don't wait for persecution to start before you act. It might be too late. Shalom from Israel. July 07 Vehicles Can Be More Energy Efficient, Use Less Oil, Expert SaysUSINFO > Products > News From Washington 06 July 2006 New materials, fuels, production methods promise to revolutionize auto-making The following article appears in the July 2006 issue of the State Department's electronic journal series Economic Perspectives. The complete issue, titled Clean Energy Solutions, can be viewed on the USINFO Web site. Reinventing the Wheels: The Automotive Efficiency Revolution By Amory B. Lovins Transportation drives global oil trade and is a key environmental challenge, especially in cities. Most cities are designed around cars, not people -- changing cars “from a convenient accessory of life into its central organizing principle,” according to environmental author Alan Thein Durning. It need not be so. Moreover, new car technologies already exist, and others are under development, with potential to transform the paradigms of global development and energy security. These technologies, if pursued, will be good for business throughout the world, provide safe and affordable mobility, be environmentally friendly, and create competitive advantage. They are not the stuff of science fiction, but realities we can expect to see emerge even within this decade. The world cannot go on turning nearly five trillion liters of oil per year, half of it for transport, into the roughly 42 percent of global carbon dioxide emissions reported by the U.S. Department of Energy in its 2005 World Energy Outlook. Oil’s direct and hidden costs -- climate change, insecurity, geopolitical rivalry, price volatility, and degradation of economic and social development -- make it unsupportable. The most fundamental solutions are the simplest. More sensible land use
strengthens neighborhoods and lets people be already where they want to be.
Smart policies let all means of getting around—from walking and biking to
ultralight trains and advanced buses -- compete fairly at honest prices. From
Singapore to Curitiba, Brazil, cities that treat cars without favoritism have no
car problem, yet they achieve excellent mobility for all. In time, so could even
the car-centric United States and other industrialized countries if they stopped
incentivizing sprawl and cars through their tax systems and zoning laws. Lighter weight formerly meant costly metals such as aluminum and magnesium. Now, ultralight steels can double a car’s efficiency without extra cost or decreased safety. With clever design, even conventional steels can yield surprising results. A German startup firm’s 2+2-seat 450- to 470-kilogram diesel roadster (www.loremo.com) combines 160- to 220-kilometer-per-hour (100- to 137-mile-per-hour) top speeds with a fuel economy from 1.5 to 2.7 liters per 100 kilometers (87 to 157 miles per U.S. gallon), and will sell in 2009 for 11,000 euros to 15,000 euros. Advanced polymer composites are even stronger and lighter. They can halve a car’s weight and fuel use, yet increase safety, because carbon-fiber composites can absorb up to 12 times as much crash energy per kilogram as steel. Alternative Automotive Fuels Many cars already on the road can burn advanced biofuels -- say, 15 percent gasoline and 85 percent ethanol, ideally “cellulosic” ethanol made with new processes from woody plants such as switchgrass or crop wastes. An ultralight hybrid car burning such “E85” fuel could cut its oil use by another three-fourths, to just 7 percent of the current level. Brazil has already eliminated its oil imports, two-fifths via sugar-cane ethanol that now competes without subsidy. Three-fourths of Brazil’s new cars can burn anything from pure ethanol to pure gasoline, although all of its gasoline is at least 20 percent ethanol. Sweden plans to be oil-independent by 2020, chiefly via ethanol made from forest wastes, and its top-selling 60 percent of filling stations must offer renewable fuel by 2009. In the longer run, one can make a robust business case for tripled-efficiency, ultralight-hybrid cars to use compressed hydrogen gas as fuel and turn it into electricity in a fuel cell. A heavy, inefficient car would need an excessively bulky tank and a big, costly fuel cell. But an ultralight, aerodynamic car would need two-thirds less propulsive energy and smaller tanks. And just 3 percent as much cumulative production volume would be needed to make the three-fold smaller fuel cell cost effective -- thus it could become cost effective many, many years earlier. Such cars when parked (which is 96 percent of the time) could even become profitable power plants on wheels, selling electricity back to the grid when and where it’s most valuable. In a parking structure, there would be a pipe to get hydrogen into the car and wires to get electricity out. At times of peak power demand, you could turn the fuel cell on and the car could run as a power plant, crediting the owner’s account. The company designs and manufactures integrated systems for cultural use including climate controllers, feed and poultry weighing systems. Cellulogic, AgroLogic's subsidiary which makes warning and control systems was also acquired by CTB International.
Israel's incredible economy that allows her leaders to "buy" coalition partners to help them to execute their destructive policies - like using more than 50,000 soldiers and policeman to remove around 8,000 settlers from Gaza and recently 10,000 to block all of the Westbank to remove three families from a house (legally owned by Jews) in Hebron. This remarkable economy, compared to that of the to be established, so-called, Palestinian State that has no economy.
PS. A re-settlement program wasn't provided for in the unilateral eviction of Jews from Gaza and northern Shomron. Consequently, to date, 10 months later, 111 families are not yet living even in the temporary "caravilla" pre-fab structures and of the 1,860 people who became unemployed, 1,350 are still not working.
